Why in News?
=> The Election Department made the final publication of photo voter lists of all 200 assembly constituencies of the state under the special brief revision program of electoral rolls in Rajasthan.
Key Points:
=> Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta informed that 14 lakh 22 thousand 968 voters' names were added during the special brief revision program of voter lists in the state. Of these, 7 lakh 20 thousand 223 are males and 7 lakh 2 thousand 745 are females. Thus there was an increase of 2.87 percent voters in all the assembly constituencies of the state.
=> He informed that till the date of last publication, a total of 5 crore 9 lakh 43 thousand 21 voters are registered in the state. Out of these 2 crore 65 lakh 32 thousand 787 male voters and 2 crore 44 lakh 10 thousand 234 female voters are included.
=> A total of 23 thousand 869 specially-abled persons were also registered during the revision programme. A total of 5 lakh 26 thousand 991 specially qualified voters are registered in the voter list of all the assembly constituencies.
=> A total of 28 lakh 46 thousand 506 applications have been received online during the revision program, which is the highest in the entire country. 3 lakh 26 thousand 103 young voters of 18 years of age and 7 lakh 78 thousand 718 voters above 18 years of age have registered themselves in the voter list by giving their own mobile number in the application form.
=> The Chief Electoral Officer informed that a total of 13 lakh 17 thousand 741 voters of age 80 or above 80 years are registered in the published voter list.
=> Similarly, in various assembly constituencies, a total of 5 lakh 26 thousand 991 specially qualified voters are registered in the voter list. He informed that 1 lakh 42 thousand 827 service employed voters are registered in the last part in various assembly constituencies of the state.
