Why in News?
=> Madhya Pradesh Law-Legislative Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra informed that Madhya Pradesh Prevention of Damage to Public and Private Property and Recovery of Damage Act, 2021 has come into force with immediate effect.
Key Points:
=> Notably, this act was approved by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh on January 3, 2022.
=> He said that strict action as per law would be ensured against those who cause large scale damage to public and private property in the name of agitation, strike, bandh, riots (communal or otherwise), public unrest, agitation or similar activities.
=> Law Minister Dr. Mishra said that there is also a provision in the law to recover legal fines from people who are involved in damage to properties.
=> There is also a provision for the determination of the amount of damage to property and the constitution of a Claims Tribunal for the claim.
