Adopt an Anganwadi-Program

Why in News?

=> The 'Adopt an Anganwadi' program was started in Madhya Pradesh with the objective of increasing community participation in strengthening Anganwadi centers.

Key Points:

=> To adopt Anganwadi centers in the program, public representatives, government employees, social workers, social organizations, non-government organizations, industrial institutions and other organizations can cooperate in activities like infrastructure, Anganwadi operation, nutrition improvement etc.

=> For adopting Anganwadi centers, assistance will be provided to the District Collector at the district level.

=> The amount will be accepted in the form of check or bank draft only.
