Explanation:

Recently, seven rare vulture species have been spotted in Jaisalmer’s Pokhran sub-division this winter season.

These seven species are out of the nine endangered vulture species found in the country.

Vultures start arriving in India at the beginning of October.

The arrival of the migratory birds is considered a good ecological sign. Bird lovers, wildlife conservators, environment enthusiasts, and local villagers have therefore expressed happiness about the arrival of the birds. The forest department has increased patrolling in order to ensure the security of these birds.

The vulture species spotted in the district were white-rumped vulture, Himalayan vulture, cinereous vulture, Egyptian Vulture, griffon Vulture, Indian vulture and red-headed Vulture.
