Grievance redressal of beneficiaries of PMAY-G

• From now the panchayat and rural development department will address the grievances of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin {PMAY-G) within two working days.
• The beneficiaries of PMAY-G will be able to inform their problems directly to the authority through the toll free helpline service and the same will be addressed within two working days.
• To address the dearth of mason initiatives are being taken to impart mason training in mission mode, the minister said that the helpline number was launched as a part of steps taken to accelerate the construction of PMAY-G houses so that the beneficiaries may inform about their problems immediately.
• He also urged the beneficiaries to come forward to avail this facility to resolve their problems and to construct their houses within stipulated time and give opportunities to other eligible beneficiaries in getting their house.
• Contact numbers of all beneficiaries are in the database of P & RD and the status of construction of houses will also be assessed by the department from time to time.

PM Awas Yojana – Gramin

• Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin or PMAY-G, a revamped version of the Indira Awas Yojana rural housing scheme may be formerly launched near Diwali this year.
• According to the notification published on iay.nic.in, the Prime Minister shall launch the scheme in the last week of October.
• After the formal launch by the Prime Minister, the states and UTs may proceed with the regional launches to achieve more publicity of the scheme.
• The functions for regional launch of PMAY-G will be organized within 15-20 days after nationwide launch of the scheme by Shri Narendra Modi.
• Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, the central government have increased the subsidy amount and the procedures for beneficiaries and the authorities.
• Under PMAY-G, government will build 3 Crore homes in the rural areas in the country by the year 2022.
