Recently, Uttar Pradesh has been ranked last in the list of big states in the Public Affairs Index 2021, released by the Bangalore-based think tank Public Affairs Center (PAC).
Key Points:
=> In this index, Uttar Pradesh's score was the lowest with -1.418 points, while Kerala (1.618 points) got the first position.
=> In this index, PAC has released the ranking of states on the basis of three important pillars of governance - growth, equity and sustainability. Each of the three pillars of governance is divided into five governance practice themes.
=> The equity scores for the states in the index were based on five themes - voice and accountability; effectiveness of government; The rule of law; Regulatory quality and control of corruption.
=> Sustainability standards were assessed based on the share of clean energy, solid waste management and control of environmental pollution and corruption, while the development score covered health, sanitation, financial performance and government spending on infrastructure and development.
