Mihidana is a sweet dish of West Bengal and is a GI (Geographical Indication) tagged product. This is in news recently as the very first consignment of Mihidana sourced from Bardhaman has been exported to Bahrain.
The export was made by DM Enterprises, Kolkata which is an APEDA registered exporter. A GI tag can be issued for agricultural, natural or manufactured goods that have a unique quality, reputation or other characteristics related to its geographical origin.
