Poultry sector has performed very well in the recent times in Bihar, the egg production in the state has increased from 100.21 crore in 2015-16 to 274.08 crore in 2019-20, growing at an annual rate of 28.06 percent in the last 5 years. In order to increase the availability of chicken eggs and meat, besides subsidizing the establishment of 5000, 10000 capacity poultry farms in the private sector, chickens are also being distributed on a large scale, through the State Poultry Centers. Development of breed of chickens is also being promoted.
