The lethargy of the system has ruined the difficult life of the mountain. Roads and bridges are called scales of development. According to this scale, development on the mountain has been gasping for years.
Key Points:
=> There are many rivers, drains and mattresses where there are no bridges even today. Many bridges that were swept away by disaster years ago have not been constructed.
=> In such a situation, during the rainy season, people have to cross these rivers and drains with their lives on their palms.
=> Amar Ujala has launched this campaign to bring out these mountain enemies.People of Rudraprayag district suffer.
In Rudraprayag:
=> People are crossing a 110 metre long bridge connecting Rishikesh-Badrinath and Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway between road and bridge. Vehicles are passing through mud and stone walls to reach the bridge by road.
=> The road at one end is extremely narrow, which always poses a risk of accidents. The proposal to build pucca pushta here has been going on in the files for three years. The bridge over Alaknanda river on Rantoli bypass at district headquarters Rudraprayag was constructed by BRO in 2017.
=> But the approach books were not constructed. Traffic was restored by constructing unpaved walls on both sides of the bridge. On June 2, 2018, torrential rains destroyed one side approach pushta of the bridge.
=> Even after three years, the permanent approach books of the bridge have not been constructed. While heavy and small vehicles coming from Chamoli district and Kedarghati in Rudraprayag pass through this bridge.
=> Narrow one end of the bridge puts you at risk of an accident. Congress President Ishwar Singh Bisht, former Zilla Panchayat President Laxmi Rana, Rajendra Prasad Nautiyal of Ukrand say that the apathy towards the bridge could lead to a major accident.
=> The bypass rudraprayag was sanctioned in 2007.
=> Former Uttarakhand CM BC Khanduri had sanctioned The Rantoli-Jawari bypass at Rudraprayag when he was the Union Minister of State for Road and Transport.
=> Two motor bridges on Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers were also sanctioned on the 3.5 km long bypass sanctioned in 2007. A bridge was built on the Mandakini river, but the construction of the bridge over the Alaknanda river remained hanging for years.
=> The situation was that the structure of the bridge was also damaged in 2012. Bro later completed construction of RCC bridge in 2017. When the bypass and bridge were transferred to us from BRO, the contract did not mention the approach books of the bridge.
=> As per the design, a proposal has been sent to the Central Government for construction of approach books on both sides of the bridge. The primary work will be done as soon as the approval is given. However, as a system, approach has been given with the help of raw books.
