Olympics stars receive Rs 23-cr awards from Haryana Govt

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya distributed cheques amounting to more than Rs 23 crore to Tokyo Olympics athletes.
The Governor gave cheques worth Rs 6 crore, Rs 4 crore and Rs 2.5 crore to Neeraj Chopra, Ravi Dahiya and Bajrang Punia for winning gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Men’s hockey team player Surender Kumar was presented a cheque of Rs 2.5 crore each. Sumit, another team member, remained absent from the event.
The players were given job offer letters along with a proposal to get HSVP plots on concessional rates. The ceremony was held to honour 32 players from Haryana.
