Annual fish consumption in the state is 8 lakh tonnes, an average of 20 to 22 crore fishes come to Bihar from West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh daily To increase fish production in Bihar, a provision of 40 to 75% grant has been made to the farmers for setting up of hatchery and fish feed mills, from making ponds.
