Private banks contributed more as compared to scheduled commercial banks as 110 branches out of these 177 were opened by them, 48 new branches of public sector banks including State Bank of India were opened and 19 of small finance banks and payments banks branches opened Out of 177 newly opened, 40.1 percent opened in rural area, 13.6 percent in metropolitan area. 22.6 percent branches were opened in urban areas and 23.7 percent in semi urban areas.
