Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the state government’s flagship scheme—Redesigned Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (Re- SVAYEM).The ambitious scheme which would benefit around 2 lakh youths with Rs. 50 thousand each.
MAIN HIGHLIGHTS:
=> The scheme would help the youths to develop entrepreneurship skills and become self-reliant.Other facilities in different sectors would be provided to the eligible groups in future.
=> The govt. have plans to register these groups under departments like PWD, Irrigation, Water Resources so that they can work for the small-scale projects in the rural areas.
=> The ambitious scheme has been redesigned to develop an ‘Entrepreneurship-Oriented-Ecosystem’ in the state. It aims at strengthening local industries and rural economy.
=> The government will provide ‘Seed Money’ and ‘Working Capital Support’ to 2 lakh members of enterprising groups to undertake new economic activities or expand their existing businesses.
=> Each member of the selected eligible group would be given a seed capital of Rs. 50,000 in two tranches for promoting entrepreneurial activities at the grass root level.
