Explanation:

• Uttarakhand forest department opened the first biodiversity park in Haldwani, which is the state’s biggest, on World Environment Day.
• The park is spread across 18 acres and has around 500 species of plants. Incidentally, the theme of this year's World Environment Day is ‘Celebrate Biodiversity.
• The park houses Jurassic era lichens, mosses, algae and ferns as well as huge trees like banyan and ashoka which are linked with Gautam Buddha’s life.
