The Agnibaaz Division which is a formation of Southern Command of the Indian Army organised a joint exercise for both Indian Army and Maharashtra Police at Lullanagar Pune on October 9, 2020. The Agnibaaz division has been headquartered at Pune and is also known as the 41 Artillery Division.
Highlights
=> The primary aim of the exercise was to harmonise the drills and procedures of Indian Army and Police.
=> This was done for activating the anti-terrorist Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) in order to counter any terrorist actions in Pune.
Participants
The exercise involves the participation of Quick Reaction Teams, Dog Squads, Bomb Disposal Teams of Army, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Quick Reaction Team of Maharashtra Police.
About The Exercise
The simulated exercise environment was built up regarding the presence of terrorist in family accommodations at Lullanagar. Based on the set up, Quick Reaction Teams of Army established the outer cordon initially. Traffic control on nearby roads was carried by Maharashtra traffic police and Corps of Military Police Army together. Then, the Joint action was carried by Army’s Counter Terrorism Task Force (CTTF) and Quick Reaction Team of Maharashtra Police to neutralize terrorists through room intervention drill, search of room for any unidentified items or explosives by Dog squads and diffusion by Bomb Disposal Units.
