Why in Abohar:-
Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh spoke about the series of steps being taken by the Abohar has recently been declared the third most polluted city in the Swachh Survekshan.
Steps to be taken:- Efforts to improve the situation, 10 new community toilet blocks and seven new solid waste management sites called material recovery facilities would be set up.
About Project:- A project called ‘Chokho Abohar’ for sanitation and hygiene had been sanctioned by the state government. The word “chokho” is used by the Bagri populace which means beautiful.
Abohar is a municipal corporation in the Fazilka district of the Indian state of Punjab, northeast of Sri Ganganagar and southeast of Fazilka. It is near the India-Pakistan border. Abohar's population is 211645. The city is known for kinnow production and accounts for 60% of the country's produce.
