During the lock down due to the global pandemic the whole world’s economy has fallen steeply and the one who are affected the most are the street vendors, the unorganized sectors and the unskilled labor. Keeping in view their conditions Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address the street vendors in Madhya Pradesh through Svanidhi Samvaad programme.
What is Svanidhi Samvaad?
The Svanidhi Samvaad programme was launched on 1st June 2020 in an attempt to help poor street vendors resume their livelihood activities. They are worst hit by the pandemic. Special arrangements for the telecast of PM’s address has been made across the state. Hundreds of LCD screens have been installed at the public places in around 378 municipal bodies. The programme will be live telecasted through webcast. The registration for attending the same has been made available on My Gov website which is an official website for Central government all work force.
Who all will be benefited?
The major stake holders are, street vendors, MSME, un organized sector and unskilled workers. During the registration process itself nearly 4.5 lakh street vendors did the registration through the portal out of which more than 4 lakh vendors having been given identification and vendor certification. About 2.45 lakh eligible beneficiary application have been presented through the My Gov portal to Banks, out of which the bank has granted acceptance to around 1.4 lakh street vendors. The amount granted is nearly Rs 140 crore. With all this Madhya Pradesh is positioned at the number one for total applications accepted. The state has contribution of 47% alone.
