Rice delivery operations go online in Punjab

After the successful use of a digital platform for wheat procurement amid the Covid crisis, the state government is going to use the same process in the procurement of paddy, beginning October 1.

Under the new Punjab Custom Milling Policy for Paddy for Kharif, 2020-21, the Cabinet today gave its nod to a proposal of the Food Civil Supplies Department of launching a dedicated portal — www.anaajkharid.in — to undertake the process of milling and delivery of rice into the Central pool from more than 4,150 mills operating in the state.
