Setting a target of Rs 400 crore earnings for the Rural Development and Panchayat Department in the ensuing financial year. The new policy envisages at enhancing the revenue of village panchayats on one hand and ensuring the development of the villages on the other.
As per the policy, it would be mandatory for every block development and panchayat officer to register growth of minimum 10 per cent while giving the panchayat land on lease during the coming fiscal in their respective blocks. The Financial Commissioner also asked the officers to prepare detailed reports of development works to be carried out in villages in their blocks in the next fiscal.
