Explanation:

At present, 2071 mw solar energy and 2444 mw wind energy is being used in the state. The state has succeeded in getting full 750 mw solar energy from the Rewa Project by focusing on maximum use of solar energy in the state. The 250 mw unit of NTPC, Mandsuar is also functioning efficiently. Work is being carried out on development schemes of solar parks.

New solar plants will installed shortly in Morena, Chhatarpur and Sagar districts. Work has been started to install 2 lakh solar pumps in the state. About 300 colleges are getting electricity at the low rate of about Rs 2.25 per unit through rooftop plants. Previously, they used to get electricity at the rate of Rs.7.40 per unit.
