Wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh :
India is dotted with such places where wildlife tours can be enjoyed but the state of Madhya Pradesh offers all the treasures of experiencing wildlife adventures. The state is praised for its admirable range of flora and fauna and wildlife sanctuaries. There are numerous national parks and sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh where several rare species can be spotted.
Panpatha Wildlife Sanctuary :
Panpatha Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. It is located in the proximity to the famous Bandhavgarh National Park. It is home to various ranges of flora and fauna and also inhabited by different species of animals and plants. Tigers are the main appeal of this sanctuary and various other animals like jackals, chital, sambhar, blue bull and porcupine can be also spotted in this sanctuary. A different variety of birds also live here.
Karera Wildlife Sanctuary :
Karera Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. It is certainly a paradise for bird-watchers as it is home to an entire range of avian creatures. One can spot here the very rare Indian Bustard. It also provides refuge to about more than 250 different species of birds like Herons, Indian Robins, Pintails, Gadwalls, Indian Gazelle and Teals. Several water birds can be also spotted here.
Singhori Wildlife Sanctuary :
Spread over a total area of 288 km², Singhori Wildlife Sanctuary is home to several wonderful hills, plateau, valleys, forests and plains. It is one of the places to experience wildlife. Along with being a wildlife sanctuary, it also features attractions like Choukigarh Fort, Bhandariya Temple and the Caves of Jamgarh.
Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary :
Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary is the home of endangered Asiatic Lions and one among the most renowned wildlife sanctuaries of Madhya Pradesh. Spread over a huge area of land, it is a hidden magical gem in Vindhyan Hills and a safe retreat for a huge number of flora and fauna. The calm wilderness and the serene rivers make this place appear amazing. Madhya Pradesh Forest Department notified Kuno as national park. Now, it is known Kuno National Park.
Ghatigaon Wildlife Sanctuary :
Ghatigaon Wildlife Sanctuary is among the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh. Located in the Gwalior district of the state, it features various flora and fauna. It is also known as the Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary due to protecting various species. The sanctuary is home to different varieties of flowers like Khair, Murjan, Palash, Seja, Dhawada, Royenja, Ghote, Beweg, Dhaman, Salai, Heans and Katli. The sanctuary is also a home to the blackbuck, chital, monkey, wolf, blue bull, wild boar, fox and hyena.
Bori Wildlife Sanctuary :
The Bori Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in Hoshangabad District .The sanctuary covers an area of 518 km2 (200 sq mi), located in the northern foothills of the Satpura Range. It is bounded by the Satpura National Park to the north and east, and by the Tawa River to the west. The sanctuary, together with Satpura National Park and the Pachmarhi Sanctuary, forms the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve.
Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary :
The Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1989 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It is spread over five square kilometres and is home to different species of birds and other wildlife. It has an ancient palace built by Holkars which was primarily used as a hunting hut also known as shikargah (hunting lodge).
Undoubtedly, these wildlife sanctuaries and national parks of Madhya Pradesh bring the beautiful opportunity to observe the wildlife closely. Most of these parks are provided with latest amenities like jeep safaris and excellent lodging options. This is the reason of the increment of the tourist traffic at these places.
