The geological survey of India (GSI) has found huge deposit of graphite in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh giving a shot in the arm to the state government for offering opportunity to investors. Graphite, also known as plumbago or black lead or mineral carbon is a stable form of naturally occurring carbon structurally, graphite. It crystalises in hexagonal system and is known to occur in layered & lamellar form with a grey-toblack metallic lustre and a greasy feel.
