Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur lays foundation stone of developments projects :
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of development projects worth over Rs 209 crore in the Bharmour-Pangi tribal area of Chamba district.
Addressing a huge gathering at Chaurasi Temple Complex Bharmour, Thakur said the state government was committed to development of Chamba district. “Chamba was once known as backward district of the state but now with several developmental activities it will progress.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 240 MW Kuthed Hydro Electric Project to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2,750 crore. He also inaugurated 15 MW Kawarsi and 9 MW Salun hydro electric projects at village Hiling in Holi constructed at a cost of Rs 150 crore and 90 crore, respectively.
Jai Ram Thakur performed bhumi pujan of Sachuin to Bharmani Mata ropeway to be constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore and inaugurated SADA shopping complex at Bharmour constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.33 crore. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of 23 roads of the area to be constructed by spending an amount of Rs. 165.49 crore. He laid the foundation stones for the construction of the civil hospital and ITI building.
Thakur said that the very first decision of the present State Government was aimed at providing social security and respect to senior citizens. He said that for this, the state government lowered the age limit for getting the old age pension without any income limit from 80 years to 70 years and this had benefitted 1.30 lakh people.
