Three Panchkula colleges are among the top 10 in all Haryana government colleges with Sirsa college topping in employability, according to the state’s higher education department rankings – PRaYAAS. The department has devised a ranking framework — Performance Rating Yardstick for Academic Audit Standards (PRaYAAS), which was released on November 19, for monitoring the performance of higher education institutes in the state. In the first phase, government colleges have been covered.
Top performers: Among all 156 colleges, Government College (GC), Sector 1, Panchkula, is on top with a score of 421 out of 500, followed by GC Kalka with 392 marks and GC Hisar with 390.
Parameters used: The methodology includes marking on 10 parameters — academic quality (30 marks); teaching and learning quality (95 marks); research quality and impact (25 marks); collaboration/strategic alliance (10 marks); employability (80 marks); infrastructure (135 marks); inclusivity, representation and diversity (20 marks); student engagement/support services (40 marks); outreach activities and social impact (30 marks) and governance and management (35 marks).
