‘Terracotta Grinder’ Launched by KVIC at Varanasi to Re-use wasted pottery

On September 2, 2019 the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) based at Mumbai, has launched ‘Terracotta grinder’ at Sewapuri, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is manufactured under KVIC’s project REPLAN (REducingPLAstic in Nature) and grinds waste and broken pottery items for reuse in pottery making.
It is designed by KVIC chairman Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena and Fabricated by Rajkot(Gujarat) based engineering unit.
Saxena, also distributed 200 electric pottery wheels and pottery machines to the villagers whereby job opportunity will also be increased and has also created demand for terracotta products by the Ministry of Railways to Zonal Railways and IRCTC(Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) in Varanasi and Raebareilly stations.
