State PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla said the government is fully geared up to implement the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) programme on all state highway toll plazas as per the guidelines unveiled by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

• The move is aimed at removing bottlenecks and to ensure seamless movement and collection of user fee as per the notified rates, using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.
• These technical advancements would cut the waiting time at toll plazas.
• The authorities concerned and officials are already on the job to install necessary equipment and technology for proper implementation of this new system.

Singla was in Delhi to participate in a conference on “one nation one tag — FASTag”. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari was also present.
