To prevent migration from hilly areas, commission recommends strengthening rural economy :

1. Uttarakhand Village Development and Migration Commission in its report has suggested to stop migration from the mountains.

2. The Uttarakhand Village Development and Migration Commission has submitted its report to Chief Minister. In its report, the commission has recommended to strengthen the rural economy so that migration from the hill stations of the state can be reduced. 

3. This report has been prepared by the commission after analyzing the schemes in the field of village development in the state.

4. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that preventing migration from the mountainous regions of the state is a big challenge and said that effective steps will be taken on the suggestions of the migration commission.

5. Widespread public awareness is necessary for populating the villages and farming of the state. For this, the Chief Minister also stated the need to form a team of officers of departments related to agriculture development at Nyaya Panchayat level. 

6. It has suggested to ensure equal opportunities and participation for women in the state to create additional income for them. It has also been said to give priority to the skill development of women in the suggestions.

7. In order to protect the crops from animals like monkeys and wild boars, security walls are being built in some blocks.It is necessary to do so in all districts. In addition, a plan should be made with the assistance of the Forest Department to protect crops from monkeys. Describing the scarcity of water for drinking water and irrigation in the rural areas of the state as a major problem, the report said that the actions of the scheme can be combined to deal with it.

8. In view of the good potential of medicinal and aromatic plants in Uttarakhand, the report has suggested the need to develop it as a beneficial activity and convert it into an important livelihood production activity.

9. The commission has also suggested quality monitoring and certification of products produced by self-help groups to standardize them and open universal markets for them. There is also a need to develop a dynamic online platform for marketing and retailing products.

10. In addition, conservation of natural resources has been suggested collectively in the mountainous regions. It has been suggested to provide skills that have the potential to boost the local economy for variant centers, packaging and nursery development.

11. The Commission said that the number of vacant posts of Village Development Officer in the hilly districts is more than in the plain districts. It has recommended appointment to these posts soon.
