Let Varun's initial money = Rs X.
He gave 60% to his wife. Remaining = 40% of X = 0.4X.
He gave 20% of remaining 0.4X to each of his three children:

Money left = 0.4X - 0.24X = 0.16X
He spent 3/5 of what's left on miscellaneous:
Spent = 3/5
