A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a circular table facing towards centre. H ison the immediate left of A but is not neighbour of D or E. F is on immediate right of B.C is between E and F, G is neighbour of E. Who is between A and B?
D
F
G
H
Let’s break it down:
- Everyone’s sitting in a circle, all looking at the center.
- H is right next to A, on A’s immediate left—so, H sits directly counter-clockwise from A.
- H cannot sit next to D or E, so they’re not on either side of H.
- F sits right next to B, on B’s immediate right—so, moving clockwise from B, you find F.
- C is sandwiched between E and F— picture: E–C–F somewhere in the chain.
- G is next to E—so, E’s spot will have C on one side and G on the other.
- The key question: Who’s sitting between A and B?
Let’s lay out a possible arrangement by placing the surest links first:
- Place E, C, F together: E–C–F.
- F is on B’s immediate right: B–F.
- So, E–C–B–F isn’t possible (F can’t be both after B and after C).
- Instead, try C between E and F: E–C–F, and since F is after B: B–F. So consider E–C–B–F.
- G is E's neighbor: could work as G–E–C–B–F.
Now, fit A and H. H must be to the immediate left of A, and H can't be next to D or E.
So, after arranging: G–E–C–B–F. That leaves seats for A, H, D.
If you slot in A next to H, and H not touching D or E, you get: C–B–F–D–A–H–G–E.
Check each:
- F is to the right of B.
- C is between E and F.
- G is next to E.
- H is to the immediate left of A.
- H isn’t next to D or E.
Now, between A and B, moving clockwise, you have D. So, who’s between A and B? D.
Options:
Option 1: D (Correct answer)
Option 2: F (F is not between A and B)
Option 3: G (G is not between A and B)
Option 4: H (H is on A’s left, but not between A and B)
