If the radius of a circle is decreased by 10%, then what will be the percentage decrease in the area of circle?

If the radius of circle is =10 , area= (22/7) * 10²

Now radius is decreased by 10% it means it remain 90%

Thus new radius= 90% of 10

=(90/100)*10

New area= (22/7) * 9²

change in area= [ (22/7){100-81} ]= (22/7)*19

% change in area= $\frac{(22/7)*19}{(22/7)*100} *100$

= 19
