Explanation:

As per Section 125(3) of Companies Act, 2013, the amount accumulated in the Investor Education and Protection Fund shall not be used for:

1. Reimbursement of legal expenses incurred in pursuing class action suits under section 37 and 245 by members, debenture holders or depositors as sanctioned by Tribunal.
2. Refund in respect of unclaimed dividend, matured deposits, matured debentures, application money due to refund and interest thereon
3. Promotion of Investor’s education, awareness and protection.
4. Distribution of any disgorged amount among eligible and identified applicant for shares or debentures, shareholders, debenture-holders or depositors who have suffered losses due to wrong action by any person.
5. Any other purpose incidental thereto, in accordance with such rules as may be prescribed.
