The National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) is expected to submit its final report on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) by December end, excluding geo-technical tests.
The NDSA had earlier asked the state government to conduct these tests, but authorities were reluctant, citing that grouting and reinforced concrete works at the Medigadda barrage would leave no traces for analysis.
In November, the NDSA informed the PC Ghose Commission that a lack of geo-technical data delayed its report.
The NDSA also cautioned against storing water in the Annaram and Sundilla barrages, warning they may face structural risks similar to Medigadda.
