The Maharashtra government, in an attempt to shape the usage of Artificial Intelligence in the state has announced the formation of a 16-member committee tasked with submitting recommendations for the Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025.

• Minister for Information Technology, Ashish Shelar, declared that the committee, chaired by the director of the Directorate of Information Technology, Mumbai, will draft the state’s first-ever AI policy.
• Shelar emphasised that Maharashtra would become the first state to have a dedicated AI policy.
• Shelar announced the formation of a Cyber Security Policy Task Force 2025, aimed at safeguarding Maharashtra’s IT and digital infrastructure.
