Direction: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions which follows:
P, Q, R, S, T, U, and V are sitting around a circular table facing the center such that the seats are in the form of a clock ranging from 1 to 12 O’Clock. Seat 1 is 1 O clock, seat 2 is 2’ O’Clock and so on. R is to the immediate left of U, who is sitting at 5 O’ clock seat. There is a three hours' difference between R and T’s seat. T is sitting diagonally opposite to Q. Q is to the right of R. There is a 6 hours gap between the seats of P and R. V is sitting to the immediate right of P. S is sitting on the seat which is 4 hours less than P.
Who is sitting to the immediate right of R?
T
P
Q
R
U
Let's solve step by step:
- U sits at 5 O’Clock (seat 5).
- R is to the immediate left of U, so R is at 4 O’Clock (seat 4).
- Q is to the right of R (which would be seat 5, where U is, but let's check further).
- There is a 3-hour difference between R (seat 4) and T, so T could be at seat 1 (4-3) or seat 7 (4+3).
- T is diagonally opposite Q (so if T is at seat 1, Q is at seat 7, or vice versa).
- There is a 6-hour gap between P and R (so P is at seat 10, since 4+6=10 or 4-6=10, using mod 12).
- V is immediate right of P (so V at 11).
- S is on a seat 4 hours less than P (if P is at 10, S at 6).
- Now fill seats:
Seat 4: R
Seat 5: U
Seat 10: P
Seat 11: V
Seat 6: S
- Seats available: 1, 7.
Let’s try T at seat 1 and Q at 7.
R is at 4, Q (seat 7) is to the right of R (in circular manner: 4?5?6?7).
T at seat 1 is 3 hours from R (seat 4).
T (1) is diagonally opposite Q (7).
- So who is immediate right of R (seat 4)? Looking at the clock: After seat 4 is seat 5.
- At seat 5 is U.
Options:
1. T
2. P
3. Q
4. R
5. U
Option 5: U is correct.
Summary:
- Immediate right of R (seat 4) is seat 5, where U sits.
- All statements are satisfied with this arrangement!
