Directions: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions following it.
A family has 9 members A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H & I and they are sitting in a row facing north. There are 2 couples in the family. H who has 2 sons and 1 daughter is sitting third to the right of C. A is sitting immediate left of his wife C. Members at both the extreme ends are children of B. B is sitting immediate right of his wife H. The daughters G and I are sitting with their respective fathers. D who is brother-in-law of A is sitting in the middle of the row and second to the right of A. E is sitting immediate right of his maternal uncle D. I who is granddaughter of H is not sitting at any of the extreme ends. I is daughter of C.
Who is sitting second to the left of G?
A
B
H
I
None of these
Let's break down the arrangement step by step:
- There are 9 members: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I.
- 2 couples. H has 2 sons and 1 daughter. H is sitting third to the right of C.
- A is immediate left of his wife C.
- Members at both ends are B's children.
- B is immediate right of wife H.
- G and I (daughters) sit with their fathers.
- D is brother-in-law of A, in the middle, second to right of A.
- E is immediate right of his maternal uncle D.
- I (granddaughter of H, daughter of C), not at extreme ends.
- I is C's daughter.
Arranging:
1. Couple: A and C (A left of C). Another couple: B and H (B right of H).
2. D is brother-in-law of A (so D married to A's sister or A married to D's sister).
3. H has 2 sons (A and D) and 1 daughter (C).
4. G and I are daughters, G sits with her father, I sits with her father (A).
5. Extreme ends: Children of B.
Final logical arrangement:
A - C - F - D - E - B - H - G - I or similar.
By checking all positions:
- "Who is sitting second to the left of G?"
If G is between H and I, say: ... B H G I ... then second left of G is B.
Option 2, B is correct.
Correct Answer: Option 2, B
- G sits with her father H; B is at the left of G.
- Second to left of G: B (if arrangement is ...B H G...).
- Other options (A, H, I) don’t fit here.
