Stand Up India Scheme completes seven years

The Central Government has sanctioned more than Rs. 40,700 crore to more than 1,80,630 accounts during the last seven years under the Stand-Up India (SUPI) scheme.

  • The information has been released in a statement issued by the Finance Ministry. On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the SUPI scheme. 
  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the scheme is a significant achievement in promoting entrepreneurship among SC, ST and women.
  • The Stand-up India scheme, which was started on April 5, 2016, has completed seven years today.
  • It was launched to encourage entrepreneurship at grassroot level to foster economic empowerment and job creation, especially among SC, ST and women entrepreneurs. This scheme been extended till the year 2025.
