Maharashtra's Bandra-Versova sea bridge to be named after Veer Savarkar

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the Bandra-Versova sea link bridge in Mumbai will be named after freedom fighter and Hindutva ideologue late Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

CM Shinde made the announcement after returning from the national capital where he attended the new Parliament inauguration and celebrated the 140th birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar at the Maharashtra Sadan.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Bandra -Versova sea route in Mumbai will be named as Swatantra Veer Savarkar Bandra- Versova Sagari Setu.
He also said that on the lines of Bravery Award instituted by the union government, the SwatantraVeer Savarkar Shaurya Puraskar will be given for incredible bravery deeds in the state.
