The Indian Army has launched the first phase of Project NAMAN, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing comprehensive support and services to Defence Pensioners, Veterans, and their families.

  • The project, inaugurated by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, and Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi, President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).
  • He emphasized that the project not only caters to the needs of the Defence community but also extends its services to the broader population residing in and around military stations.
  • The project entails the establishment of reception and facilitation centres known as Common Service Centres (CSCs).
  • These centres, operationalized through a tripartite MoU between the Indian Army, CSC e-Governance India Limited, and HDFC Bank Limited, offer a range of services, including SPARSH-enabled pension assistance, Government to Citizen (G2C) services, and Business to Consumer (B2C) services, all under one roof.
