The International Council of Museums (ICOM) announces International Museum Day (IMD) on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

• ICOM has organized IMD to raise awareness around how museums foster cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and cooperation among people.
• ICOM encourages museums to engage with the public and teach them about museums' contributions to our education, and to society's development.  
• Recently, around 30,000 museums in over 150 countries have participated in International Museum Day.
• Theme of the International Museum Day (IMD)  “Museums for Education and Research”.
