Explanation:

Section 37 of Punjab Courts Act, Delegation of powers to District Judge—District Court may, with the previous sanction of the High Court delegate to any subordinate Judge in the district the power conferred on a District Court by Section 53 and 54, of this Part and Section 24 of the Code of Civil Procedure (V of 1908), to be exercised by the Subordinate Judge in any specified portion of the districts, subject to the control of the District Court.
