Only that person can be appointed a judge of the Supreme Court who is a citizen of India and:
Judge of the High Court for at least five years.
Advocate of the Supreme Court for at least 10 years' standing.
Judge of the High Court for at least ten years.
Advocate of the High Court for at least fifteen years.
A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court unless he is-
(a) A citizen of India
(b)Either:
(i) a distinguished jurist
(ii) has been a High court judge for at least 5 years or of two or more High Courts in succession
(iii) has been an advocate for at least 10 years or of two or more 1-high Courts in succession, Constitution does not prescribe any minimum 'age for appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court.
