Explanation:

Article 58 lays down the qualification for being eligible for selection as President. (i) he must be a citizen of India ('ii) he must have completed the age of35yèars. (iii)He must be qualified for election as a member of the House of the people. He must therefore be registered as a voter in any parliamentary constituency (jv) He must not hold any office of profit under the Govt. of India or the Govt. of any state, or under any local or other authority subject to the control of any of the said governments. The candidature of a person for the election of the President must be pro by at least 50 elected members and be seconded by another 50.
