Review under section 114 and 0.47 of the ('PC is based on the maxim actus curiae neminem gravabit' which means an act of the court shall prejudice no man and, 'lex non cogit ad impossibilhia' which means the law does not compel a man to do that what he cannot possibly perform. Review literally and even judicially means re-examination or re-consideration of its own decision by the very same court on the grounds of discovery of new facts, error or mistake apparent on the record or any other sufficient reason. Review is usually preferred - (a) cases in which appeal lies but not preferred, (b) cases in which no appeal lies, (c) decisions on reference from Court of Small Causes. The limitation period to ifie review wider the Limitation Act is 30 days from the date of decree of the order.
