Section 99 lays down the limitations on right of private defence. (i) There is no right of private defence against an act which does not reasonably cause the apprehension of death or grievous hurt, if done or attempted to be done by a public servant acting in good faith under color of his office though the act or direction may not strictlyjustifiable bylaw. (ii) Right ofprivate defence is not available if there is time to recourse to public authorities. (li') Right of private defence does not grant the right to inflict more harm than necessary for the defence.
