A holds land in Bengal, on a lease granted by A, the Zamindar. The revenue payable by A to the Government being in arrears, his land, is advertised for sale by the Government under the revenue law, the consequence of such sale will be the annulment of B’s lease. B to prevent the sale and the consequent annulment of his own lease, pays to the Government the sum due from A.

B is entitled to get reimbursement of the amount so paid.

B is not entitled to anything from A, because there was no contract entered into between A and B.

B is not entitled to get anything A from A, because B has paid the amount in his own interest to save his own tenancy.

B is not entitled to get anything from A, because he had not paid the amount at the request of A.
