India to send largest-ever contingent of 84 players to Paris Paralympic Games.
India has announced its largest ever contingent for the Paris 2024 Paralympics, scheduled from August 28 to September 8. The 84 member team, which includes 32 women, represents a significant increase from the 54 athletes (14 women) sent to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
The Indian team will participate in 12 sports, including three new additions: para cycling, para rowing, and blind judo.
Sumit, along with Bhagyashree Jadhav, will be India's flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, scheduled for August 28 to September 8, 2024.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent participating in the Paris Paralympics 2024 during the send-off ceremony organized in New Delhi .
Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Khadse was also present on the occasion.
