PM Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL)'s in-plant railway siding project.

• The project is located in Hansalpur, Gujarat, where MSIL operates a substantial car manufacturing facility producing 7.5 lakh cars, operating under the name of Suzuki Motor Gujarat.
• The initiative is a part of the PM Gati Shakti Yojana and is aligned with India’s carbon net zero emissions target, as stated by MSIL.
• The country’s first automobile in-plant railway siding aims to assist MSIL in dispatching and transporting 3 lakh finished cars by train.
