Uinited States created history by appointing Ketanji Brown Jackson on the Supreme Court

Ketanji Brown Jackson has been sworn as the 116th Supreme Court justice and the first Black woman to serve on the high court.

Ketanji Brown Jackson was approved by a vote of 53 to 47, with three Republicans in her favour.
Judge Jackson, a 51 year-old appeals court justice with nine years experience on the federal bench, was confirmed 53-47, mostly along party lines but with three Republican votes.
Presiding was Vice-President Kamala Harris, also the first Black woman to reach that high office.
