    E1 denotes a set of students who get grade A in the first exam

    E2 denotes a set of students who got grade A in the second exam

    |E1|=|E2| =x and |E1 ?E2|=y

    |E1 ?E2|=50-4=46

    46=|E1|+|E2|-|E1  ?E2|

    =x+x-y

    46=2x-y      ….equation 1

    |E1|+|E|-2|E1?E2|=40

    x+x-2y=40    …...equation2

    solving 1 and 2

    y=6

    x=26
