Every year, on the 5th of October, the world comes together to celebrate and honor the tireless efforts of educators around the globe. World Teachers' Day is a special occasion dedicated to acknowledging the invaluable contributions that teachers make to society.

• It's a day to express gratitude, recognize their dedication, and show appreciation for the pivotal role they play in shaping the future.
• The day is co-convened in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF and Education International (EI). It commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the status of teachers.
• The theme of 2023 World Teachers’ Day is "The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage".
